B&Q Store Thieves List Was Available For All To See Online
I wonder if any thieves made a complaint that there data was online ? Well don’t worry because the security researcher who found this, did report it and after much faffing around the data was removed from public view.
According to Lee Johnstone the chief executive of Ctrlbox Information Security who found this data, the exposed records included 70,000 offender and incident logs.
In the blog post he says “One thing that became very clear when reading the security incidents, is that trade point staff care for security seems to vary between stores as well as the usage of decent CCTV systems and repeat offenders who appear to get away with thefts at the same store time and time again. “
It was on the 23rd January 2019 that the server finally went offline with the data no longer accessible.
