Grafana Query Editor Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability [CVE-2018-1000816]

A vulnerability in the Influxdb and Graphite query editor of Grafana could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack on a targeted system.The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a targeted user to select a malicious input field. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code and access sensitive information from the affected interface.Grafana has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
