Some EE customers unable to make calls due to outage [NOW RESOLVED]

Hundreds of EE customers took to social media earlier today to complain about and EE outage that appeared to last 4-5 hours for some users.

There was only really one message from EE on Twitter which said: “We’re aware that a small number of customers are unable to make some calls over 4G. We’re doing our best to fix this quickly. Please keep retrying, and we apologise for any inconvenience. WiFi calling, as well as text and data services, are not affected.”

Customers were being advised to turn their phones off and on again when reports first started. The website Down Detector said it had reports of problems in almost all parts of the UK.

The issue does appear to now be resolved, but no official word as yet as to what caused today’s issue.
