A vulnerability in the Linux Kernel could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to gain elevated privileges on a targeted system.

The vulnerability is due to a buffer overflow condition that could occur in the drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi/iwl-agn-sta.c source code file of the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a request that submits malicious input to the targeted system. A successful exploit could trigger a buffer overflow condition that the attacker could use to corrupt memory or gain elevated privileges on the system. 

Kernel.org has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
