Oracle VirtualBox OHCI USB Controller Race Condition Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability (CVE-2024-21113)

This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Oracle VirtualBox.
An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute high-privileged code on the target guest system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the implementation of the virtual OHCI USB controller.
The issue results from the lack of proper locking when performing operations on an object.
An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the hypervisor.
This vulnerability was reported to vendor on 28-03-2024, and a coordinated public release of advisory was issued on 30-04-2025.
