5G stands for Fifth Generation and is the latest standard for wireless communication technology. It offers significantly faster data speeds, lower latency, and higher capacity compared to previous generations like 4G. With peak download speeds potentially reaching up to 10 Gbps (gigabits per second) and latency as low as 1 millisecond, 5G is designed to support a wide range of applications, including enhanced mobile broadband, massive IoT (Internet of Things) deployments, and ultra-reliable low-latency communications. This makes 5G ideal for advanced technologies like autonomous vehicles, smart cities, virtual and augmented reality, and remote healthcare.
