Eclipse Mosquitto Topic Strings Denial of Service Vulnerability [CVE-2017-7653]
CVE Number – CVE-2017-7653
A vulnerability in Eclipse Mosquitto could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input processed by the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious UTF-8 topic string to the targeted system. A successful exploit could result in a DoS condition on the targeted system.
Eclipse has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
