Donald Trump campaign website hacked

The official website of the US President Donald Trump has been hacked.

Screenshots circulating online (as shown below) show the website’s “About” page briefly displayed a fake message, accompanied by the FBI and the US Department of Justice badges.

The website was reverted to its original content within apx 30 minutes of the hack taking place. There is no evidence to suggest that anything other than the one page was accessed.

Donald Trump campaign spokesperson Tim Murtaugh said in a statement that no data has been stolen.

“Earlier this evening, the Trump campaign website was defaced and we are working with law enforcement authorities to investigate the source of the attack. There was no exposure to sensitive data because none of it is actually stored on the site. The website has been restored,”
