Arista NG Firewall ReportEntry SQL Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability [CVE-2024-27889]

CVE number – CVE-2024-27889

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Arista NG Firewall.

Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the ReportEntry class.

The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to construct SQL queries.

An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the postgres user.

Arista has issued an update to correct this vulnerability.
