Google advances AI technology with the launch of video search
Google has announced a major leap forward with the introduction of several new AI-powered updates to its search features. Among the updates, described as the company’s “most significant” yet, is the ability to use Lens—Google’s visual search tool—to search by capturing video.
This update enables users to ask questions aloud about moving objects within a recorded video. Google’s AI systems then analyze both the video and the spoken question, providing an AI-generated summary along with resources from the web.
Additionally, Google now allows users to ask questions verbally while recording videos with Lens.
The tech giant has also enhanced its shopping search capabilities on Lens. Previously, users could find visually similar products across retailers. Now, they will see an improved results page that offers key product details, including reviews, pricing from various retailers, and purchasing options.
