Multiple UK mobile networks report outages (EE, BT, Vodafone, Three, o2)
From around lunchtime today multiple UK mobile phone networks appear to be having major problems, as we can see from the downdetector image below customers from EE, BT, Vodafone, Three, o2, Sky, iDmobile, Lebara and Tesco Mobile all report problems.
EE, which is a part of the BT group, has issued this short statement : “We’re currently addressing an issue impacting our services. We apologise for any inconvenience caused; we’re working urgently to fix this issue and will provide a further update as soon as possible.”
According to social media and forum comments some users are saying the problem could be with ‘SIP trunk providers’ these providers connect business phone systems to public phone networks via the internet, and also link into mobile phone providers.
Some listed below are virtual providers – Lebara is part of the Vodafone network, Sky use the o2 network, ID Mobile use the Three network amd tesco Mobile use the o2 network.
