Internet down for thousands of UK residents after broadband outage hits multiple providers

Hundreds of thousands of people across the UK are currently without internet access, as major providers including Vodafone and BT face widespread outages.

Reports of disruptions began surging around 2:30 p.m. today, with Sky and several other internet providers also affected.

The cause of the nationwide outages remains unclear, but many users are reporting problems with their home broadband connections.

Virgin Media, Voxi, EE, O2, and other networks have also confirmed ongoing connectivity issues.

As we can see from the above DownDetector image lots of providers are having issues, if we drill down and take a look at the image below at the time of reporting we can see 134129 have reported an outage with just Vodafone alone. The issues appear to be across the UK and affect multiple providers.
