Microsoft Windows WMI Providers Incorrect Authorization Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability (CVE-2026-50325)

This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Microsoft Windows.

An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the configuration of WMI providers.

The issue results from incorrect authorization prior to allowing access to functionality.

An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of a target user.
