Google makes Veo 3 AI video creation tools widely available

Google has expanded access to its Veo 3 artificial intelligence video creation platform, making its advanced AI video generation technology available to a wider range of users through its Vertex AI platform.

Veo 3 is designed to allow users to transform written prompts into realistic video clips, helping creators, businesses and developers produce content without the need for traditional filming equipment or advanced video production skills. The platform can generate high-definition video along with matching audio, including dialogue, background sounds and effects.

Google has also introduced Veo 3 Fast, a version of the model focused on quicker generation times, allowing users to rapidly experiment with ideas, create prototypes and produce content more efficiently. Both versions are now generally available through Vertex AI.

The company says demand for AI-generated video has grown rapidly, with millions of videos already created using Veo 3 since its introduction. Businesses have been testing the technology for applications including advertising, product demonstrations, training materials and creative projects.

One of the key features separating Veo 3 from earlier AI video tools is its ability to generate video and audio together. Users can create scenes where characters speak with realistic lip synchronisation, while environmental sounds and effects are automatically produced to match the visuals.

Google has also highlighted partnerships with creative platforms, including Canva, which is integrating Veo technology into its own design tools to make AI-powered video creation easier for everyday users.

Alongside creative features, Google is focusing on responsible AI use. Videos created with Veo include invisible SynthID watermarking technology, designed to help identify AI-generated content and reduce the risk of misuse, such as the spread of misleading synthetic media.

The wider availability of Veo 3 marks another step in the growing competition among technology companies developing generative AI video systems. As these tools become easier to access, they are expected to change how companies, filmmakers and online creators produce video content.
