3G

3G stands for Third Generation of mobile telecommunications technology. It represents a significant advancement over its predecessors, 1G (first generation) and 2G (second generation), by providing faster data speeds and improved network capacity, enabling more advanced services and capabilities for mobile users.

Typical 3G speeds range from 144 kbps (kilobits per second) in slower conditions up to 2 Mbps (megabits per second) in optimal conditions. This was a substantial improvement over 2G, which offered speeds of up to 50 kbps.
